ABOUT THE CLIMATHON

Welcome to join Climathon 2024 in LUT University, Lappeenranta campus on the 1st – 3rd of November. We are organizing this event as part of a global movement, orchestrated by EIT Climate-KIC, that empowers citizens to take action against climate change.

The topic of the event is “How to reduce digital carbon footprint from service production to usage?” This can mean many things, for example you can think about how streaming services, such as Netflix could go on about optimizing their procedures to be more sustainable.

You do not need technical skills to participate in this climathon. You can research into the current practises and suggest some solution on how to improve the situation without doing any actual coding. Of course, you also may code an actual program if you want to. The idea of this event is to cultivate ideas. This climathon is non-competitive so there is no need to stress!

Rules and evaluation process:

You can participate to this event alone or gather a team of maximum 5 people.

Attendance 10%, Questions and answers 10%, Presentation pitch 10%, Slides 10%, Presentation itself 20%, Reflection 30%
